"Shaiya" is an MMORPG developed by SONOV which invested two yearstime and more than KRW 4 billion (about RMB 30 million) in the project."Shaiya" is a land where many races dwell, and as well as a big stagewhere the game progresses. The unique features of Shaiya
The system requirement for the game is not high. When you enter thegame, you may feel that it's similar to some other 3D MMORPG. Shaiyahas inherited the features of Myth, Lineage II and some other famousMMORPGs; however, it focuses more on character details and the qualityof graphics. Its excellent graphics makes Shaiya stand out among otherrecently released 3D MMORPGs. There are two control modes available inthe game, keyboard control mode and mouse control mode (the keyboardcontrol mode is similar to that in CS). When you create your character,the system will ask you to select difficulty level, which is quitenormal in offline games. However, it is the first time that this kindof function found in an online game though it's not as simple as thatin offline games.
There are four difficulty modes for players to choose from: easy,normal, difficult and ultimate (currently only two modes areavailable). The easy mode is fit for newbs and noobs, but the in-gamecharacter is restricted to a maximum level of 30. In normal mode,character's attribute point will increase 3 and skill point willincrease 1 whenever you get 1 level up. In difficult mode, thecharacter's attribute point will increase 5 and skill point increase 1whenever you get 1 level up, but the experience gained in difficultmode is twice as that in normal mode. In ultimate mode, the character'sattribute point will increase 5 and skill point will increase 2whenever you advance 1 more level. However, once your character dies,all the data of the character will be deleted directly. This kind ofsetting might be the first found in online games.
The quests in the game is adult-oriented, some of which involvesocial ethic, closely related to real life. And it is worth mentioningthat the armors in the game can not only increase your defense, butalso can increase your HP and stamina so that they can defense yourcharacter more effectively.
Shaiya has adopted quite a lot of new concepts which have never beenattempted in any other online games. We believe that this adult MMORPGShaiya will go further and further in the online game world and createa new chapter in MMORPG's history.
Review
There were too many players on this map, faint, so I swam to theopposite bank of the river. There was a village over there and severalNPCs were standing around. I talked to them and hoped to take on somequests from them, but what a pity, my level was not high enough. Therewere fewer players on this map, though those boars with green name werea challenge for me. (The monster setting is quite similar to that inKAL. The monsters' color will change according to players' level. Ihave found 3 different colors until now, Blue--100% experience,Green--125% experience and Yellow--150% experience). Soon, I advancedinto level 8. I accumulated more than 20,000 in-game money afteraccomplishing missions. I bought some new equipments, carried myweapons and started my new adventure.
The monsters in Shaiya have high attack and defense and they aresuitable for same-level players. In the first several levels, levelingwas pretty fast, but afterward it slowed down gradually, maybe becausethere were too few monsters above level 5 for players to kill.
